CraBBq is a Crabanero based Carolina style barbecue sauce.

Many of you have asked, “but what is Crabanero?”


O’ bay seasoning + Habanero = Crabanero.


Crabanero is” the Original o’ bay Seasoned Habanero Sauce, since 1995.” A hot sauce specifically designed for crab, shellfish and seafood in general, and as many of you are finding Crabanero is great on much more than just seafood.

We appreciate that!


And no Crabanero has no crab in it, crabs love Crabanero on them.


CraBBq shrimp is a recipe I done for years, we usually serve the skewers over a bed of mixed greens dressed with a chipotle lime vinaigrette and crumbled smoked blue cheese, fi you like spicy, this is recipe is for you.

CraBBq Shrimp Skewers

What you need;

1 pound uncooked shrimp {21 to 25 count}

1 Tbs. fresh lemon or lime juice

1 Tbs. cajun spice or your favorite spice blend

12 slices thin cut bacon (par cooked 1/2 way)

3/4 cup Crabanero brand CraBBq sauce

5-6, 6 inch wooded skewers soaked in water for 20 minutes


What to do;

 1)Soak your skewers in water, peel and de-vain shrimp, you can buy them this way if you’d like. 2) marinate shrimp for 15-30 minutes with spic and lemon juice. 3) Cut your pre-cooked bacon strips in half, wrap a piece of bacon around each shrimp, you may have more shrimp than bacon, if so, make sure to place unwrapped shrimp to the center of the skewers. 4) Impale 4-5 shrimp onto each skewer, making sure that the bacon is secure onto the shrimp. Set your un-cooked shrimp skewers aside in your fridge. 5) Pre-heat your grill to high for 10-15 minutes. 6) Place shrimp skewers onto very hot grill, put the lid down, cook for 3-4 minutes, open lid and flip the skewers to the other side, at this point baste the shrimp liberally with your CraBBq sauce, close lid cook 3-4 more minutes, flip skewers again and baste with more CraBBq sauce, OK, thats 3 flips and 3 rounds of basting with CraBBq sauce.


Remove from grill and place on a warmed plate, cover with foil till your ready to serve.


Serve with ice cold Sierra Nevada IPA,  Sierra Nevada makes a great IPA and is in my humble opinion the best IPA made, and has remained consistently great since I had my first SN IPA some time in the early eighties, yikes.  -C
